This lake was created between 1949 and 1953 for Hydroelectric power production and irrigation of the land surrounding the lake.

Surrounded by mountains catching carp like this, is a dream!

With the amazing carp it holds it has become an anglers dream. From all over the world anglers fly to Morocco to fish this amazing place. So far the lake record is a 33.4 kg (69lbs) fully scaled mirror followed by a 28.4 kg (62.4 lbs) common.

And still every year uncaught fish are banked for the first time with amazing weights. Besides carp there is black bass, pike, zander roach and tench in the lake.
